Born and raised in Peru, Kate relocated to the United States after earning a Bachelors in Communication for Development. With a background in leadership roles in the hospitality industry, Kate developed a strong calling for service and exceptional organizational skills that create strategic growth. This has allowed Kate to bring a unique blend of understanding of our valley and non-profit passion to her role as Senior Manager of Operations.
Prior to transitioning into non-profit management, Kate excelled in hospitality leadership positions, honing her expertise in operational management, team development, customer service excellence and multicultural communication. She developed a sense of urgency for projects and tasks, which she couples with her passion and drive to move projects forward and keep her team motivated in their mission.
Kate is bilingual in English and Spanish and brings diverse cultural perspectives to her work. Her understanding of the immigrant experience translates into a deep empathy and love for creating healthy support networks where individuals can find comfort and connections to the vast resources the Vail Valley has to offer. Before becoming our Senior Operations Manager, Kate served as our Family and Community Engagement Manager where she created empowering parenting classes and organized events to celebrate our Hispanic heritage and build connection and community.
In her current role, Kate leverages her skills to lead the Girls’ Mentoring Program, develop community engagement initiatives, foster meaningful connections and support based on cultural understanding and empowers others to find their passion and thrive.
